NG Rigging completed radar swap outs on two radar domes during 2011, one was on the Isle of Tiree and the other was at Great Dun Fell.
Riggers arrived on site and teamed up with scaffolders to erect a working platform inside the dome to allow access to the top panels, we had calculated that once all preparatory works had been completed and an ideal weather window was available we would be able to remove/replace dome panels and swap radar in one long day this would greatly reduce the risk of the structure being affected by weather.
The existing 8 metre radar was removed and replaced with new in the one day also all works were completed on time and within budget.
